2 babies... with spots!

We had a nice little surprise yesterday. A doe and her two fawns spent some time in our yard, just feet from our front door. I was worried they would have trouble crossing the road but they made it just fine.

Enjoy!

Hot Hot Summer!

The past few days here have been very hot and humid. On Saturday, Ella and I went up to visit my friend Sarah and her son, London. We let the kiddies go "swimming" - Ella's first dip. I think that Ella and London are smitten with each other.

London must have shared with Ella some of his sleeping tips. Last night, she slept for 6.5 hours straight - that is the most consecutive hours of sleep I've gotten since she was born (by quite a bit!). She woke up to eat, then went right back down for another two hours. When she got up, she was in the best mood - all smiles and very talkative. Let's hope for more nights like that!

You know you've made it in the world when...

your face has appeared on this blog! Jay's friend Charlie visited a couple of weeks ago to go to a concert in Philly with Jay. He said though that the main goal of his visit was to appear on Ella's blog. Well, here you go, Charlie! You've made it! :)

Ella is 2 months old today!

Ella is two months old today! She has gotten a lot bigger in the last month, but still looks like a little peanut to us.

She had her two month doctor's appointment yesterday and weighed 10 lbs., 7.9 oz. She gained almost 2 pounds since her one month appointment! She also grew 1.5 inches - she's now 23 inches long. Poor Ella also had to get a few shots. This was not fun for anyone - there were tears all around. Fortunately, Ella will (and probably already has) forgotten all about it. I have not. It was so difficult to see her in so much pain, and to not be able to save her from it.

She smiles a lot more lately, and has been doing lots of cooing and trying to "talk" to us. She really has changed quite a bit in the last month.

We're still very much enjoying every minute of parenthood. She is such a good baby. We've even taken her out to restaurants a couple of times for dinner, and she sleeps the whole time.

It's fun to watch her grow, and see her features change. It's so amazing to see parts of Jamus and myself in her. We're very much in love with our little one.

Griffin turned three years old on Tuesday! We celebrated by going for a nice long walk. :) I can't believe we've had him for almost three years! He's such a good boy with Ella - I can't wait to see how they interact in the future.

June Already!?!

I can't believe that it's June 1st! It's been just over seven weeks since Ella was born. My maternity leave is officially over as of today. It's going to be so hard to leave my little girl, but she'll certainly be in good hands with her daddy. For the summer, I'll be working when Jay can watch Ella. Then, starting in September, she'll be in daycare two half-days per week. I know it'll be good for Ella and her daddy to have a little bonding time, but I will definitely miss her.

Here are a few pictures from the past couple of weeks of Ella. She's getting so big! The weather has been getting better, and we've had some opportunities for her to wear some of her pretty summer dresses!

Griffin loves to watch Ella play on the floor. He's very jealous of her toys, but never touches them.

She looks so tiny in this chair!
